What happens if I didn’t cause the damage, do I still get charged?

As the tenancy is a joint contract, all tenants are jointly and severally liable and responsible for everything in the tenancy. Therefore if 1 person causes damage and doesn’t own up to us and accept responsibility in writing for all the repair charges, the total cost will have to be split equally between all tenants.
